AIA Young Architects Forum along with the Humane Societ of Charlotte presented the inaugural Doghouse Design Competition in October 2004. Camas Associates designed and submitted a "Prairie School" Dog House inspired by Frank Lloyd Bite. Mortensen Woodwork, Inc. manufactured the doghouse. Presented the week of October 10th through the 16th, the doghouse was on display in Founders Hall in the Bank of America Center in downtown Charlotte.

On October 16th, the doghouse along with more than 20 other doghouses were then auctioned off to the public. The proceeds from the auction went to support the Humane Society of Charlotte.
